Sorry for the inconvenience caused. I request you try the below mentioned instructions once:
1) First step is to use AVG Remover tool and uninstall your AVG program completely. To download AVG Remover Tool please click on the following link:
http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe
2) Run the downloaded tool and follow the instructions displayed on your screen.

So the fact that AVG Setup Process is 32 bit is irrelevant.  What is UI?
That still leaves me still getting the error when trying to re-install AVG.  How can I get it back?

I've got the same problems on my Windows 10 - 64 bit Surface Pro3
After trying your solution regarding removal tools and deleting the AVG removal folder it still does not work. However, after trying to re-install AVG for a number of times (and always getting 0xC007063), I now noticed by opening the Task Manager (while trying to reinstall AVG), that the program ''AVG Setup Process (32 bit)'' is always running.  And my computer is definitely 64 bit. The last time I tried, I used your download x64_693.exe. Any suggestions?

Just purchased a new Windows 10 64 bit laptop and receive the following error no matter how I try to install the free version of AVG.

Error code: 0xC0070643
Description: Event exec_finished

  1. Your computer will be restarted automatically. After the restart, AVG Remover will finish the uninstallation.
    NOTE: Once the AVG Remover Tool has done with its process. Please go to the C drive and look for a folder named as "AVG Remover" and I request you to delete it manually.

Thank you for contacting us. All drivers and processes that scans your computer are 64 bit, only UI is 32bit and some non essential parts of the program. Thank you.
