0xcoo7oo1d error when trying to install avg free

Have run the remover several times.  Says it can't find any AVG products.  Have run regedit and manually deleted any key that isAVG related.
Downloaded 64 bit version.  Get error message "incompatable version". To be expected as my machine is Winows7 32 bit.

Tried to install version 9.0.935, which is on several of my other computers.  Get the same 0xc007001d error.

Computer:
Athlon xp3200 2.26Ghz
2.0 GB RAM
Average of 35.6GB free space on 5 local drives.
The error occurs as the temporay install files download or immediately after the download is finished.

Home brew Windows 7 computer.  No anti virus program of any kind.  Downloaded AVG Protection Free 1606 .exe file.  Run this file.  It take about a minute to "download installation files" then 0xc007001d error pops up.

We request you to run our AVG remover tool once and try installing AVG antivirus free using the offline installer.

Downloaded AVG_remover.exe.  It did not find any AVG products.  Not surprising, as I have not been able to install any AVG product on the machine.

Downloaded the 32 bit offline installer, AVG_Antivirus_Free_x86_894.exe.  Windows 7 says this is not a valid 32 bit file.

No, Windows 7, which does updates whenever machine is booted up.

Programs:
Firefox browser.
AutoCad 2007.
VLC Player.

Alphonso, please click on Run Anyway on the AVG remover tool so that it can remove the left over traces of AVG.
After the restart please start downloading 64 bit file and try installing.
If you get any issues please do let us know.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Could you please check whether you have sufficient space, for example, 1GB of space on the drive where you try to install AVG Protection Free?
