Alan, Thanks for the tip which I have read and acted upon (I do use Google Chrome and Moxilla Firefox). Un-ticking the "clean up brower" choice in the 1-click maintenance set-up has enbled the analysis now to go to completion beyond the crash point (clean up windows). Hopefully AVG will cure the problem with an update shortly.

The 1-Click Maintenance utility in TuneUp has stopped working and crashes when the windows & programs scan is being run. This seems to have started since Microsoft released its January 2015 suite of updates to Windows 8.1 and I wonder if the operating system now stops TuneUp working properly - could this be the case and is AVG working on an update to TuneUP?
Hi Peter,
Please note that this issue has been fixed in update.
Thanks
