Hello Sam,
There shouldn't be any chances for this happen because of Task Manager.
However, provide the screenshot of Task Manager window where you see the 100% CPU usage.
You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
From the list, we will be able to identify the exact process which is actually using more CPU resources.
I'm sort of disagreeing with you here… This is the reason why… If i'm not connected to the internet my CPU will run on a steady 5% to 40% deepending on whats open… The minute the net goes back on my CPU is back up to 100% I had bitdefender and windows defender when this happened hence why I went to AVG because this computer is only used for gaming and has nothing special on it but surely if my CPU was running on 100% then surely it would run on 100% regardless if connected to the web or not?

Hi Balasubramanian, I will try to post a screen shot… However this will not help you or me in this case… If I could post video it would be better as that way you can see what I mean… But I know its not an AVG issue but not sure where else to turn to as don't want to go on another forum and if it is a virus/trojan I would have a better chance solving it here than anywhere else. But the minute I open task manager it will show 100% and then go down to 5 - 45% CPU usage and that's idle… However if I then close Task manager and quickly re open it I will then see 100% CPU usage =/ But ill post 2 screen shots if I can of whats going on to give you a better idea…
Sam, this is to confirm that AVG isn't the reason for this issue.
If it is confirmed, we will ask you to contact Microsoft support and inquire why this is happening.
To remove AVG Antivirus program traces, run both AVG clear and AVG remover tool as mentioned in this article.
Once it is done, you can download the installation file from this https://www.avg.com/installation-files website.
Keep us posted.
Okay deleted the other anti virus I am using the paid version but unable to give details on account details etc as i'm not the account holder… A family member is and is doing the whole family share thing… But when I noticed my CPU on 100% I ran the deep scan and nothing was found and I ran the boot scan and same thing again =/
Hi, Not sure where to turn to for this as its not an AVG issue but would be nice if someone can give me some help… I have looked through the web for this and every solution hasn't worked but then again I have a new hard drive which was a first installation on Windows 10 so I install everything from scratch… Anyway whenever I open task manager my CPU is 100% and I can keep opening and closing it all day everyday with the same results… Most pages come back with a Trojan/Virus but I have ran 4/5 different scans on different software and nothing will flag up so i'm baffled… Any help is appreciated

Thank you for the screenshots, Sam.
This isn't the expected behavior and we request you not to use two antivirus program on the same computer as there would be conflicting issues.
Could you confirm whether you are using the AVG Antivirus free or paid version of AVG Internet Security?
Did you perform a deep virus scan using our program once you experienced this issue?
