Is this a known bug? How can I get rid of these files? Thanks.
Hi Harry,
To collect mac AVG log files:
Click Finder icon in DOCK.
Select “GO” option from the menu bar and select “Library” option from dropdown list.
After getting into Library location, we should be able to see the logs.
System logs: /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports
User logs: ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports
AVG System logs: /Library/Logs/com.avg.Antivirus
AVG User logs: ~/Library/Logs/com.avg.Antivirus
Alternative option:
Go to “Go > Go to Folder…” (Shift+cmd+G) option
Thank you!
I am having exact same problem.
I have been in touch with Apple. I was talked through going into Library & Logs, we deleted things that may have been an issue. These threats only appeared after the update and doubled to four after latest update today.
I have now decided to delete AVG Antivirus and stick with the Malware site that Apple recommened.
Very disappointed.
I am having the same exact problem…with the exact same (2) "Nimba viruses detected, and unable to be deleted or quarantined. With that said, it looks like there are a number of threads, all as of today, regarding the exact same issue. I have yet to see a solution for any of these. I will say that it only started happneing after I updated my virus definitions. Please keep us posted on a resolution here…Thanks!
Hi Harry,
We appreciate all your efforts, we apologize for the inconvenience caused. We have sent you and Email to send us the AVG Logs. Please check your Mailbox. Also, we would like to inform your that “AVG_SysInfoFTP.exe” won't run on Mac as the file is for a Windows Operating System.
Thank you!
Ive got the folders but can't upload them to the FTP server. Downloading and tying to open the AVG SysInfo Tool says "Safari can’t open the file “AVG_SysInfoFTP.exe” because no available application can open it.". Trying to join manually through finder also doesnt work.
How do I find the logs? I tried searching for them in finder but nothing is coming up. Thanks.
