Bec, Try removing AVG by downloading & using the 32 or 64bit 2015 Remover (http://www.avg.com/ww-en/utilities) [Scroll Down], whichever suits your system. I uninstalled the AVG 2015 Free AnitVirus as directed. I ran a search on my C drive and numerous AVG files were still in place. Immediately after the uninstall of AVG my computer takes 15 plus minutes to startup from the windows screen. I then tried to install two "other" competitor programs and both cite that their is a virus and cannot be installed. I have never had a problem with my laptops until the AVG installation. What other tool does AVG offer to "completely" uninstall your software and the AVG file that is preventing another program from being installed in its place.
