PS  upon the failure to invoke the program this morning, I went back into Programs and Features specifically to "Change (in this case, Repair)", but I ended up with the first "Repair failure".  I then tried to Uninstall and got the Uninstallation failure.  My inital antivius check on 12.01 took 6.5 hours to run and deleted a corrupted temp installation file.  At least that is the standardized answer I got when I clicked on "More Details" button at 8 am on 12.02.  I suspect this is what is causing my problem, but I could be way off base.
