70 Sensitive items are prime targets for attack

Hi John. Our AVG friend’s name is Balasubramanian (not Balasubramian). Unfortunately, if you decide to “resolve” the “advanced issues” found by an AVG AntiVirus Smart Scan you are only given a global RESOLVE ALL option. You cannot choose to resolve some issues and not others. In my case, for instance, I want to resolve the PC webcam privacy, firewall and fake website vulenrability issues withourt moving my 1250 “sensitive items” to an “authorized scetion.” Finally, the “Sensitive Data Shield” is not included in free, basic protection. This should be stated clearly from the outset.

Hi John.
Could you share a screenshot (https://bit.ly/2WiMpap) of the scan results that you are seeing?

As John Bryne wrote, AVG seems to be slipping on this one.  In my case there are hundreds of files identified as senstive items.  Almost none of them are.   I don't want to have them be moved anywhere, since I might make to refer to them at any moment.

I am glad to looked into this before pressing "Resolve All"!  This step would have (1) resolved nothing, and (2) caused me headaches.  Now I need to remember to ignore it in future

I agree with the other users here.  As a user of an application which is going to move/modify my files around the file system, I would like to know BEFORE I COMMIT TO ANYTHING, what is going to happen when I click Resolve.  I've not used AVG in years due to the quality dropping in the UX.  Seems that this hasn't improved.

If the issues are ADVANCED as stated in the text of the window, then an explination as to what is going to happen if I resolve the issues is manditory to have access to. This also goes with "PC webcam is vulnerable to spying" and being "vulnerable to fake websites".  I shouldn't have to manually go to the website and look up these things.

I will also note that this occured over 2 years ago and NOTHING has changed to fix this?  REALLY? SMH!  Shame AVG!  SHAME!

Very disappointed.

John, if you click on the resolve all option.

Those sensitive files will be moved to an authorized section and have a additional protection. The other applications won't be able to access those files.

However, the files wont be deleted.

Thank you for understanding.

Can anyone tell me what will happen if I click "resolve" when I see that message? I don't want to lose those files.

Thank you, John.
The scan results show there are 70 sensitive documents on your PC which can be protected. A feature called Sensitive data shield in AVG Internet security scans and protects your sensitive documents against unauthorized access and malware. Sensitive files contain your personal information that, if revealed, can compromise your privacy and identity. Sensitive Data Shield secures your private data by controlling which applications and users have access to your files.

This isn't the experience we want you to have, John. Let us attempt to explain this clearly for you.
The advanced issues scan will notify you about the sensitive files, firewall, webcam protection, etc.
Since there are multiple issues (which is recommended to fix), there is a single option 'Resolve'.
Also, Sensitive Shield will protect tax, payroll, employment, travel documents, plane tickets, etc which contains personal info.
However, your feedback is much appreciated & the concerned team will take this into consideration in future.
Thank you for your understanding in advance!

Thanks Avner, I didn't notice my mispelling of Balasubramanian. And thanks for pointing out the shortcomings of the resolve all function. I am a bit disappointed that even when paying for the product the default is to constantly bombard me with adverts. I no longer recommend AVG.
