A BLOODY popup continualy appears, AVG support was NO help

Starting maybe a week ago, an AVG 'notice' started popping up in the bottom R of this laptop's screen Win. 8.1 64 bit

I cannot move the popup so I cannot read the bottom line it says, " EMAIL SCANNER IS UNABLE TO SCAN MESSAGES BECAUSE…?"  It appears every ?5? minutes.  I've tried uninstalling, downloading the newest version etc.  I - we've used AVG Free for years and have been happy with it until now.

I contacted AVG tech ?in India? I could NOT understand 84% of what was said even when a 'supervisor' came on lline!  I could understand they (AVG) would resolve my problem for a 3 year? subscription AND $249.00!

Apparently my only option is to uninstall AVG and use another software.  No I am not running (to my knowledge) any other anti virus software.

I wasted over an hour on the phone with AVG with no benefit - solution.
