A general question about your VPN service

Joe,
AVG Secure VPN will help you to hide IP address of your computer and it won't check for Adware. However, you have AVG Internet Security (3 computers) which will protect you from viruses and adware.

so a while back had asked question about the website 4chan.org and it using MGID adware that can hijack your router and give you viruses because I had a freakout because I always liked going to their video game board (this was the page that I found that caused my freakout, https://www.reddit.com/r/TwoBestFriendsPlay/comments/7l6rli/security_psa_if_you_use_4chan_the_site_ran_ads/) and never returned there, however I want to go back. now a couple of days ago when I was updating AVG, I got wind of your VPN service, and was reading about it, and it says you use a server to relay my requested data from a website to your server and that website only sees your server. then the server sends that data to me and vice versa, essentially masking the user to the website their using, so my question was if I used your VPN service would be able to filter the MGID adware or even take the risk of that adware's actions instead of my computer, I really do not fully get what a VPN is but can it do what I just asked? thank you, Joe
