About netfilter(microsoft signed malicious driver article)

Hello Erick,
Thank you for AVG Support Community.
I'm glad to clarify your query.
Please open the AVG AntiVirus FREE/ AVG Internet Security on your PC > Click on the three dots next to smart scan > Select Boot-time scan.
This will scans your PC during the next system startup before any malware is launched. Running a Boot-Time Scan during startup improves the chances of detecting and removing malware before it can attack your PC.

Thank you.

so recently i read this article and keep checking the virustotal link until avg/avast listed as can detect the malicious driver

what i want to know as a free avg/avast user, what should i do to see if i got hit by this or not? just normal scan is enough? deep scan?(at least to detect anything??)
i dont think i install anything weird recently tho, i even already turned off my driver updates through windows update

for boot time scan, do i need to install specialized definition or not?

and my question still not answered, so normal scan or deep scan wont be able to detect this?
because im afraid of boot time scan false positive that will ruin my pc so i want to know if theres another scan to detect it 1st before i do the boot time scan
