About the VPN program disappearing after windows update

Hello Andre.
We appreciate your efforts to reinstall the software and glad to hear that the issue has been resolved.
We would need some diagnostic logs from your PC to perform a root cause analysis.
Should you experience this again, please report it to us before reinstalling.

This has happened to me today for the first time.

The main issue I saw was that the root files were gone in the install location. Only folders were there, also with no files. The shortcut was trying to find an exe file in the incorrect directory, but that didn't matter because the exe file was gone anyway.

I went to the site and re-downloaded  the installer. Installed it. As of posting this it's installed and working again.

PC Specs that might matter:
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 19042)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
RAM: 32Gigs
GPU: RTX2070

I'm pretty sure the other parts aren't that important as this looks to be a software issue and not hardware related. So something tells me that either Windows Update installed something that removed the VPN program or I'm compromised. And I'm pretty sure I'm not compromised yet. I still had the VPN running yesterday evening. Only after I booted the PC this afternoon did I notice the VPN is off and removed. I'm very sure I did not uninstall the program before shutting down. Never mind that the program was still listed in the Apps & features page in settings.

I hope this  gives a little insight you guys can use to fix your VPN disappearing act.
