Act! 2011 won't start after recent AVG Update / Reboot

Thanks for getting back to me on this question.  Unfortunately, I was despite to get a resolution and installed Norton instead.   Should I reinstall AVG I will keep your suggestions in mind.

After rebooting from a patch provided at 07/02/2015 10:04:32 today I was unable to start the Act! 2011 application.  This has never been a problem for me before.  To get around this I temporarily disabled AVG protection, then started the application and then enabled AVG protection. 

Since this can I've also noticed that Outlook 2007 starts but is a lot slower.   This may be related to the Act! start problem.

All other applications are working well.

Is there something I can do to tell AVG is is an okay application to start?

Any suggestion would be appreciated.
