AVG Protection is an old product, so I request you to uninstall it from the Control Panel
Restart the PC and follow the instructions in this article to install the latest version of the AVG :

I have received an e-mail saying that I have paid my renewal. In the e-mail there is a licence number. When I open my computer I get a box that says "Your AVG protection is going to expire": I click on the activate button. I start filling in the new licence number, first few characters are OK then it turns red and I get a message saying "Invalid license format". I have logged in to my account, there I find the same
lincense number as in the e-mail. So I have paid but not able to use.
