From your description, it seems that either your computer is set to download apps from MS store alone (app recommendation settings) or S mode is enabled.
To verify this, please share us the screenshot of the message that you receive.
I've just received my renewal for my Driver Updater. I've clicked to download it and I think I've done it and went into My Documents where I remembered where my downloads are as I haven't been into them for a long time. It shows three as I wasn't sure if I'd done it but when I try to carry on it tells me I have to go to the Microsoft store to get the app or something as it says the product I'm trying to download isn't a Microsoft or something. I have to go to the store to buy it. I can't remember the wording. I'm not sure how to reactivate it. How do I do it with simple instructions and no complications?
I had to go and find how I brought the panel up with the message again. I got it up but following the steps for taking a screenshot I got as far as typing MS paint and I selected Paint and it had another word after it but when I clicked it it was still talking about apps etc but not the same panel. I have copied what it says in the first panel.
It has a the icon of a man's head with a beard and holding a Microsoft shopping bag on his shoulder. It says underneath. : The app you are trying to install isn't a Microsoft-verified app. Installing apps from the store helps to protect you PC and keep it running smoothly. Then underneath it has a blue block link that says within it, GET APPS FROM STORE. Then a link sentence in blue underneath saying, 'Change my app recommendation settings'
Also why do I have to download the Driver Updater when it is already there, though it says there's a new version now but I don't know if I've got it or not? Why can't it just be reactivated with the new licence number. I'd l ike for AVG to reactivate it for you without you having to do anything. I always have a problem it never goes smoothly. I didn't have this one last year though, it's something new.
