Hi Sharon,

This isn't the experience we want you to have. We'd like to look into this & help you. 
Please share us the screenshot of the page that prompts to enter activation code, for better clarity. 
Also, clarify whether you've subscribed AVG through Play store/App store.

I'm new to this so please bare with me. I'm not Tec savvy at all. I've just bought AVG antivirus ultimate £23.99 when I renew next year it's £39.99. I didn't get an email from AVG telling me that I have subscribed, and no activation code. So I'm activating all features one at a time. I get to the deep clean and it's is asking for an activation code, and of course I don't have it. So I have followed all instructions to find it, but it's not getting me anywhere. I have tried everything and 6 hours later and VERY FRUSTRATED and crying. Please can you help me with a very easy way to find this code. Hopefully you can.
