I am having a similar issue… I've purchased AVG Ultimate and it will not upgrade nor does it show as a subscription in my account… I've tried the above fix numerous times on multiple devices over the past week. Nothing works… So far all I've recieved for my money is a reciept saying thanks for your purchase and hours of frustration and wasted time…

We regret for the inconvenience. We understand that you are facing issue with AVG Ultimate showing as free version in the Interface. Please do not worry, it can be fix by reactivating the AVG Zen interface with your My account credentials.
Please open the AVG program and click on your email address on the top right corner.
Select Leave the network option.
Once you leave, please click on Connect and login to existing AVG my account with your email and password.
Wait for sometime, the AVG Ultimate comes with AVG Internet security and PC Tune up will get activated.

I bought AVG ULTIMATE and installed it.After it installed I opened and it said it was the free version so I uninstalled it.Like a dummy I did not read the installation guide until had a problem.Now I tried to reinstall it and activate it and it takes me directly to the activation page where you activate it and when I try to activate it I tells me it has already been activated and clic on subscriptions and there is nothing in there and I never received a confirmation or activation email email either,But I did receive an email for installation that told me before I could install I had to activate,and yes I am not that stupid I checked my spam folders and also my cell email folder for that email.I also went to their download centre and tried to download and it tells me to recheck my activation # I don't believe this crap THOMAS
