Adding AVG to a new device

Hi just tried adding AVG to a new device, (Backup laptop). Downloaded/installed it onto new device. Logged in, got my activation code, copy pasted into the box requesting activation code. Clicked enter/ok. Said it was all done but when I open it up it says I have "Basic protection" only and it is the "Antivirus Free Version". and I should upgrade to "Internet Security". I have paid for Internet Security version and that is what I have on my original laptop. Looking in my account, it says I have 2 devices protected which would be right except it said that before I tried activating it on my backup puter aas well as after I tried activating it. Problem is, it should only have been active on my original computer and I have no idea what the other device could be. I have repeatedly tried this a number of times, all to no avail so help would be appreciated finding out out what is going wrong.
