Adding email signatures without opt-in

It is COMPLETELY UNACCPETABLE that the free version of this product was updated to include an email signature TURNED ON BY DEFAULT. Especially since I didn't notice until a sent an email FOR A JOB I'M APPLYING FOR. Thank you so, so much for making me look completely unprofessional!! (And yes, I double-checked all of my previously sent emails to make sure this feature was only recently introduced). I understand that this is a free product so I'm willing to put up with the obnoxious incentives to try to get me to pay, but this absolutely crosses a line and invades users privacy to broadcast that they're using your product to everyone they contact WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT OR KNOWLEDGE. Fortunately, there are plenty of other options out there for anti-virus needs–I may even consider paying someone else for it purely out of spite.

We are really sorry for the inconvenience caused. We will check and help you to disble the email signature. Refer the below steps to know how to disable AVG email signature.

  • Click on the AntiVirus. It will open the program interface.
  • Click on Menu at the top right hand corner of the screen. Select Settings.
  • Under the General tab uncheck the box that says "Enable AVG email signature"
