recently one of my games stopped working (Dragon Age Inquisition - DAI) I went on the Orange Origin Forums and found that a number of people with the same issue had reported that AVG was the cause. I therefore temp. de activated AVG free and tried again, sure enough it worked immediately and without a problem. The reported solution was to add either the DAI .exe or the complete folder to AVG's exceptions. I opened options/advanced settingd/exceptions then I chose to add application or file but when I chose "browse" to the file AVG free just froze and no matter how long I waited nothing happened, if I clicked anything the whole AVG free interface went grey and the only way to fix is to re start my PC. I have tried several times with the same result every time. I have added exceptions before. The only changes I have made to AVG is I recently installed AVG free on my laptop but that isn't even turned on at the moment. Does anyone know what the problem might be. First it shouldn't really prevent the game from working but the issue with adding an exception is the main problem.
Thanks
Fred,
Pleased to see that you appear to be now sorted. We suggest you to try to repair ( avgclick.me/RepairAVG ) AVG installation once and check if the issue with adding the exception persist. feel free to let us know if you require any further assistance. I suspect the problem lies with ZEN because before ZEN and before adding my Laptop to my ZEN account this problem was not apparent. My laptop is running Vista in case it is relevant that my two machines are on different OS's
Anyhow the problem is solved as far as my game is concerned and I can add exceptions manually but not through the browse feature. so thanks again.
