If AVG program causing it, it will work when you disable it. If you still wish to check with AVG program, you can try to uninstall AVG from your device and restart the device. Then, check whether you can access device manager and other application realted to mmc.exe.
If you still have same issue after removing AVG program, kindly contact Device manufaturer in order to resolve it. Hope you understand this.
Thank you for the understanding.
Device Manager and other things apparently related to mmc.exe are blocked by "an administrator." I am the builder and only user and … up until now, only administrator on this Lenovo PC. All of a sudden, this problem arises. I'm not aware of any changes I made which might cause it.
Among the wide assortment of possible explanations I am working through online, "protection" (Given the many problems I have with AVG.) seems to be a likely suspect.
How do I find out if AVG is causing my problem – or exonerate it completely, in a definitive way? And, either way, since there is NO "unblock" option in mmc.exe Properties, what's next?
So far as I could tell, I disabled AVG antivirus, with no effect. One problem with AVG is that it tends to do things I really don't want done, without my permission . . . like putting icons on the desktop and running TuneUp, in spite of repeatedly disallowing it in startup settings.
So, even though I think I have tried to cause a pause, I can't be sure this unwilling servant has obeyed my request.
Is "protection" truly a potential culprit, or is that totally a red herring?
