Advertisements AVG

Hello Dick,
This isn't the experience we want you to have.
Many of our users find these offers useful. We handpick them from our own products or those of partners we feel can add to your security or digital experience. Also the frequency of pop ups can be controlled directly from the app or can be even turned off.
Open AVG Internet Security -> Menu -> Settings -> General -> Personal Privacy -> uncheck "Show offers for other AVG products" and "Show offers for third party products".
If you have unchecked this option earlier, share the screenshot of that settings page and the popup you receive to check with it.

thanks for your response Ranjani, but I'm totally finished with AVG. first of all I can't make changes to the settings since the section about 3rd parties and advertisements of AVG is grayed out, so they're both checked and no way to uncheck them. real nasty, i have to say.
the other thing is: i got several messages that my AVG PCTuneUp trial period was almost over, once 12 days to go, then 17, then 8 to go, so i decided to uninstall the bloody thing. after uninstalling it, my pc was so slow, especially my internet, that i couldn't work with it no more. thank you AVG!
now i uninstalled everything of AVG, installed Kaspersky and let's see if that's better. if not i will find another anti virus programm. one thing's for sure, it will not be AVG any more.
it's not your fault, so i wish you a good day!

a very bad development of AVG: so many advertisements with products. i complained about it and didn't get any response, very rude of this once so nice company. now it's about big bucks, i presume.
i made the changes in my personal setting, no change at all, their bombardment of products to purchase is still going on.

another very annoying thing, and i think it's prohibited: this pc TuneUp program of AVG comes at some moments with a screen with two options: 'Buy now' and 'Maybe later'. No option to say 'No'. when you try to click it away in the right top corner they disabled it. very childish. ok, you close the screen in the bar at the bottom, but why? i'm very disappointed in AVG and will get rid of all their programs.
