After buying AVG and updating drivers, my ASUS hard drive is no longer detectable

I just bought the one year plan for AVG figuring after using it free for awhile I would pay for the service.  I ran the updates for drivers and it rebooted my ASUS StudioBook Pro which is only one year old.  And then I get dropped off at the BIOS menu with no drives detectable. Made me wonder if AVG did it.  I will send my computer back to ASUS but will probably lose all of my work data and software and go several weeks without a pc.  Regretting having signed up for this now. :frowning: Anyone else run into this problem and know a fix for it?  Just wondering if there is anything I can do before shipping my laptop into ASUS.
