After i uninstalled AVG Nation, it hijacked my Firefox newtab settings

I've ran the Sys Info Tool  (it took ages!).

It saved the output to a 7z file, and did not then give me the option to send it back to you via the tool.

Where should i send the 7zip file?

Also, how does it know to tally the log file back to this support ticket?  The email i registered here is not one I email from, you see.

I'm really sorry to hear you have such issue with AVG. This issue is really strange therefore I'd like to ask you for AVG log files - http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_SysInfo.exe - for closer analysis. Specialists will contact you on your e-mail after analysis.

Did you make sure there is not AVG addon in you Firefox?

Dear AVG and this forum of knowledge,

After i uninstalled AVG Nation, it hijacked my Firefox newtab settings…and i cannot work out how to change it back!

Please provide step by steb instructions, (or a link to a removal app) on how to reset the firefox (latest build) newtab (i.e. when open a new tab, the page it shows by default) settings back to how they were before.

This occurred when I found AVG nation in a list of installed applications (ironically, using Tuneup utilities 2012, which has since been bought by AVG!) and uninstalled it.  Then, my newtab settings were founf to have been altered!

Firefox is now showing the following page as my newtab
http://avg.nation.com/tab?pid=&coid=&cid=&mid=&ds=&v=&lang=&pr=&sg=&d=&sap=nt&src=xp

I have tried:
• Resetting the par parameter in About:Config (browser.newtab.url)
• Resettings all Firefox settings to default using the Firefox troubleshooting feature
• Following the instructions on the Nation FAQ page
• Running Malware Removal apps that explicity stats how to remove AVG Nation
but none have worked, so please, AVG, provide the necessary instructions or app to reset this setting in firefox.
