Reading the instructions further, it appears that the utility itself sends the data. If so, this will NOT work. Once I update the app. I cannot use the modem, because I get the BSOD. Please advise.
Thank you for the information.
I have forwarded the case to senior technical team for getting suggestion.
Please keep checking the post to know about the status.
Your patience is much appreciated.
After letting AVG Ultimate update to the latest version (26 June, I think), it downloaded/updated OK & then requested a restart. Restarting the PC caused the Blue Screen of Death with "Bad Pool Caller". Could not boot the PC at all then.
Restored the C drive from a backup & tried again thinking the previous time may have been a corrupted download. Same problem again!
Restored again & uninstalled AVG thru Win 10 Apps & features, then ran AVG clear utility to get rid of any leftover bits. Installed from scratch & still get the problem.
Have now found the following:
Boot PC with modem (Netcomm NB6Plus4W) ON, and get BSOD when logging on.
Boot PC with modem OFF & boots OK & progs run OK.
Boot PC with modem OFF, boots OK. Turn modem ON, get BSOD.
Boot PC with modem OFF, boots OK. Right-click AVG icon in systray, turn slider to protection off, turn modem ON & OK. Right-click AVG icon in systray, turn slider to protection on, & immediately get BSOD.
(have also tried the above with a Netcomm NB5 modem, but same results)
Anyone else having a similar prob.
Support (chat & phone) have no idea what the prob. could be, so I think I'll have to send tech. support email with details.
Cheers, Gary
Hi Gary,
Sorry to hear about the BSOD issue. I see that the issue reoccurs whenever you connect to Internet. I also understand from your previous conversation that, computer works good in adminstrator user account. Please let me us know if the issue occurs only in specific user account or multiple user account.
Gary,
It must be the latest version of AVG installed on your PC as you said the issue occurred after the update on 26th June. Please download and run the Sysinfo tool to upload the logs.

Hi Shankara
The BSOD issue occurs in my specific user account (which admin priveleges) but does not occur in the Win 10 system Admin account.
However, some other problems occured in the Admin account, like left clicking on the start icon to see all programs would frequently bring up the item list as though the right button had been clicked. Also, a lot of progs said they couldn't run in this administrator account.
Gary,
We appreciate you submitting the data via our false detection page. However, to speed up the analysis and assist you better, I request you to download and run Sysinfo tool on your PC to collect necessary logs and upload to us. I have sent you an email with steps on how to download and run the tool. Please check your inbox and spam/junk folder as well.
Hi Balasubramanian
Thanks for this.
I also sent this info via the "false detection" reporting system, where I was able to include the results of Belarc Advisor prog. which lists all the PCs hardware & software details, so I hope whoever receives that, forwards it on the tech. team.
Cheers, Gary
