After upgrade to AVG PRO on XP, AVG will not update

Hi Alan,
Did as you suggested. x32:4365 updated ok but no change to error status re virus definitions etc.
x32: 5961 did process flashed a message that definitions were up to date but agin no change to the staus shown in Zen that the definitions were still out of date (My last install was 26/6/2015 I have reinstalled AVG several times during attempts to solve this issue). Logged as an update failure in the AVG history file.
One thing I have noticed- after a computer restart, AVG pro, Windows security centre and services .msc all say windows firewall has started, but the separate windows firewall icon in control panel says windows firewall has not started. Within security centre is is not possible to turn on windows update but maybe this  normal as XP support has terminated at Microsoft? AVG update attemps to run during the computer start up process, but fails after a few seconds  with "unable to reach AVG update server".
Regards
Pete

Have checked all the listed settings on AVG support site Also not set to proxy server, set to auto DNS pickup and deleted faied update files from previous attempts. Still will not update with error "unable to reach AVG update Server".  All other internet fuctions include downloading AVG pro in the first place worked ok.

Peter, AVG are working on the update issue. Until it's all sorted just continue manually updating.

Hello Peter. Did you download the virus definitions and Link scanner DB files and updated?

Peter, I would request you to download "Virus definitions" and "Link Scanner DB full" files and do the update. These are same for both 32 bit and 64 bit OS. Thank you.
