I used AVG many years ago when it was one of the few free virus checkers out there.
I've no doubt that it is effective so I bought a copy the other day.
Autorenewal through Digital River makes cancellation difficult and only the involvement of support staff got that issue resolved.
Then the software tells me that I have a privacy issue and need to spend more on AVG VPN. I'm using Surfshark VPN so that is nonsense.
Then I am told that my PC is cluttered and I need to clean things with AVG cleaner. I want most of that clutter.
It further tells me that I have errors in my registry but over emphasises the problem.
All I wanted was a simple security app.
AVG seems to create problems to generate sales…am I wrong?
