For may years I recommended and installed AVG and now most customers are asking me to find, recommend and or install something other than AVG because of the persistent pop-up ads.
It is truly unfortunate AVG has a retro and uninspired Marketing plan and has opted for what can only be described as cheesy advertising and has purposefully engineered it to make it difficult/impossible for users to simply say ‘Thanks, but no thanks.” Indeed, I have abandoned recommending AVG until it discontinues it’s aggressive popup marketing campaign.
I’m sure some enterprising company will eventually market or provide a free App that blocks AVG pop-ups and scrubs AVG off a system’s registry. The question is why or perhaps better who at AVG is pushing this aggressive advertising and pushing long time subscribers to look at AVG’s competition.
“ . . . We apologize if an AVG product did not meet your expectations. Our main goal is to keep our customers happy. AVG carefully monitors the quality of our products and the service we provide . . .”
You used to – but by no measure these days
