According to support, I removed and re-installed the App and now it is working again just as it should
Some people ditched it just because of not knowing, so maybe you should write this into the update notes …

If that doesn't help then please click on the following link http://bit.ly/1EC8H4H and fill out your details, select as android then the name of AVG Program that you installed in your mobile and in description explain about your issue completely and finally click on Email option. Our AVG mobile team will reply back to you via email with a resolution.

I'm using AlarmClock Xtreme (free) on my Motorola Milestone 1 (a.k.a. Motorola Droid). It is still running Android 2.3.7 (Cyanogen).
Since the latest update with the new look, the lock screen is no longer overridden. The option is set and worked before. I'm using Timeriffic to deaktivate Airplane mode shortly before the Alarm goes off, so I have to enter the code
for my SIM-Card and the Screen lock code before I am able to turn off the alarm.
On the positive side, the Volume crescendo also fails now, which reduces my panic during entering of all my codes while the phone is still beeping
