After installing ProtonVPN V1.0.11 I got a virus alert from AVG Anitvirus: "Win32:Malware-gen" in "C:\Users\Michael Mayer\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\L0K47QC1\ProtonVPN_win_v1.0.11[1].exe". Wrong alert or real threat?

Michael,

Thank you for sharing the screenshot. If you are sure about that application, you can add it to the exception list as suggested below.

First, click on that application file in quarantine and choose restore. Then open AVG Internet Security -> Menu at the top right -> Settings -> General -> Exceptions -> add this application here.  We are here if you need further  help.

I already contacted Providers of ProtonVPN Software and they told me that their VPN software is absolutly virusfree. They added that they have asked AntiVirusSoftwareProviders for whitelisting of their product, but not all of them did answer.

Best regards
Michael Mayer
