Allow communication between 2 ".exe" files

Hello John,

We are glad to help with resolving the issue.
We need to check which AVG component in AVG Internet Security blocking the access of Houdini program. We can find it by disabling components one by one. Please follow the steps in this article (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Disable-AVG-Antivirus) to identify the AVG component that is causing the issue & let us know.

Hello,

I recently downloaded Houdini Apprentice and AVG seems to block the software from running. If i completely disable AVG the software starts immediately and if I enable AVG back while the soft is running it just makes it crash. If I try to run Houdini while AVG is on it just won't start at all (i can still see it in the task manager though). Anyway, I assumed the problem came from AVG so I first asked Sidefx (houdini's devs) a solution and the answered me : "Try to ensure that any antivirus/security software on the computer is allowing communication between the HoudiniServer (hserver/hserver.exe) client and HoudiniLicenseServer (sesinetd/sesinetd.exe) server programs."

So yeah, long story short i don't know how to do that. I've already set some exceptions on the entire software's folder but it doesn't change anything.

Thanks in advance for your help :)

Hello !

It seems that the "advanced feature" of AVG blocks the software from running properly.

My versions were already up to date. I've set exceptions from the begining of the problem. I've already set custom firewall rules on EVERY ".exe" file concerned and I've allowed ALL communications to EVERY ports or whatever. I'm starting to lose patience trying to run an industry standard software that you're antivirus I paid for won't even allow to run…
