Thank you for choosing AVG, I do understand the inconvenience this may have caused. Unlike older version, we have removed SMS commands sent through messenger. For using SMS commands, you have to install AVG Antivirus on alternate device. Navigate to Anti-Theft -> SMS commands -> Choose desired command -> Enter phone number to be locked & PIN number for that device.
Hi, I have just installed AVG on my phone and set up the anti-theft but when I send SMS commands to it it doesn't seem to work. I send "AVGlocate PIN" to my phone but no response. Obviously I have replaced 'pin' with my actual pin.
Is there any development concerning this issue. Locking the phone via the avg web page is absolutely not comparable to the sms featurers

I agree with Jerry. You need to add SMS commands because:
- some people don't have smart phones
- Not everyone wants to download AVG (and they might not have internet)
That's a bit of problem. If I lose my phone, I can't simply borrow one and send commands to my own. I have to use a web browser, and I have to remember my account password.
