Thanks Ranjani!
I appreciate the concern, but can only laugh at the statement "That’s certainly not how we want your AVG to work"… Please, tell me, does it work this way by accident?
My guess is that it was deliberately written to work this way? Otherwise, if AVG is accidentally developed software, then we have a somewhat different discussion.
Why is it that people cannot simply apologize and admit that something is not right, skipping the useless and aggravating apology? When you say "Many of our users find these offers useful. They rely on to upgrade to our higher levels of protection.", we all know that this is nonsense and an obvious attempt to hide from the issue at hand.
I'm SURE that everyone who is interrupted by intrusive marketing is put off by it - honest people cannot deny this. Finally, I am not interested in reducing the frequency of pop-ups, I want them ELIMINATED ENTIRELY. If AVG cannot accomplish this, I will find to find an alternate vendor, and if that's the case, AVG can count on raging reviews!
Hopefully, nobody bothers to "explain bullshit" as a response here and someone wiht integrity can tell me if the intrusive advertising can be disabled and how, or if I need to find another vendor.
Back to my original question - no bullshit please: "Frequent popups from AVG trying to sell more software are disrupting other work - is there a way to turn them off?"
IS THERE A WAY TO TURN THEM OFF?
Guy Gaines,
That’s certainly not how we want your AVG to work. Many of our users find these offers useful. They rely on to upgrade to our higher levels of protection. We also handpick offers from our other products. If you have suggestions on how these offers might be more relevant to you or less intrusive, please let us know. We are always working on improving your experience with AVG.
Also the frequency of pop ups can be controlled directly from the app. Open Internet Security -> Menu -> Settings -> General -> Popup -> Uncheck "Show offers for other AVG products". Close your AVG Internet Security and reopen it. Hope, it helps.
Else, share the screenshot https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en&urlName=How-to-create-a-screenshot&supportType=home of the popups you have received to check and assist you further.
Frequent popups form AVG trying to sell more software are disrupting other work - is there a way to turn them off? It's not only annoying, but sometimes the popups get in the way of real work - who are these folks that think it's ok to use something that I bought as a platform to spam from? If it keeps happening, will have to dump AVG…

Hi Guy,
I understand your frustration.
The Pop-Ups can be Turned Off. Please open AVG Internet Security, click on Menu>Settings. In Settings Window, expand "Pop-Ups" and uncheck "Show pop-up offers for other AVG products".
