Hello Avinash, thanks for answering.
The link you told me to read goes to the exactly same article I pointed out in my question (not the same link, but goes to the same article). This article doesn't answer my question. This update is running in loop in 3 different machines for me! Isn't there any other solution?
Hello Rafael. Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Please have a look at this article http://bit.ly/1DYlk9I
Lately I've been receiving this message:
Apparently many users are in the same situation and when asking if this is a scam or malware we get the same answer from the Tech Support, that is to access this: http://bit.ly/1J6p2m0 (an article saying that this is happening because our version of AVG is older than it should and that it will be updated).
Well, after 3 days in a roll running this update I can say that I am on the latest version of the AV and I believe that the goal with this popup is when we are re-installing the AV to maybe consider buying the paid version. I understand you guys are a company and you need to offer your paid products to all of us, but I feel deceived by having to re-install the entire AV and restart my machine pretty much everyday since this popup has started in order to "feel" safe with the latest version of the AV. Maybe I'm just wrong and you guys are having some serious issues with this update, after all, instead of a silent update as the virus definition, this one runs a Microsoft Installer and asks me to reboot every time it runs.
Could you guys just fix that? If you want to offer us the paid version, just do that instead of making us re-install the entire AV just to see a popup offering us to upgrade to the paid one. If this is really an issue with your update system, could you guys just say it and try to fix it soon?
Thanks a lot.
Same here–this popup every time I start my computer is annoying.
There's no reason I need to know every time that an update was successful, and no need for you to present me with an ad for Internet Security.
I've enjoyed AVG Free for years, and recommended to any number of low-income clients, but now the annoyance proves too much, and I'm gonna try the "other guys" free program.
If I find out they are just as ad-giving as you, or that AVG has stopped this silly, annoying little popup, then I may be back.
