Thank you for the information, Colin.
Please be informed that each Antivirus company has its own virus definitions database.
If AVG is suggesting that one of the file is possible threat then the same file might be considered as safe by another antivirus company.
We assure you that regular research and immense effort are implemented on new emerging viruses, adwares and malwares.
After deep analysis we add the possible threat applications to our virus definitions and those found on your PC will only be detected as threat by AVG.
If you would like to provide new infected file information, please use this link: http://www.avg.com/submit-sample which will reach our developers team.
Hello Karthikeyan
Thank you for your prompt reply
Screen shot attached, which appeared when i was logging onto AVG community forums to reply to your message
It looks like it came down attached to this file below, and was on a sponsor page of a person i was going to sponsor via facebook, AVG said it was blocking it but does not seem like it was successful.
Its running under the guise of http//secure-surf.net which pops up before the adware starts appearing
I have done a full scan via AVG but nothing has been detected
Thank you
Colin

The cookies had been deleted and the browser reinstalled prior to messaging you.
I downloaded Malwarebites on a free trial and that cleared it up for me, it found about 47 files that had found their way onto my system.
Still unsure why AVG failed to find them though?
All sorted now
thanks
