AntiTrack Browser cleanup Tabs gone

Hello Hartwig. Thank you very much for taking the time to communicate with AVG. My name is Shawn and I am writing to you on behalf of the AVG Senior Support team.

My colleagues took the conversation to email, however I think it is more constructive that we keep the dialogue via forum, as other forum users may find this information to be helpful, which is the purpose of the forum.

I understand you experienced a disruption using AVG AntiTrack Premium, which further involved the browser cleanup function, more specifically, to "remove temporary internet files." As a result of performing this function, specific to your Firefox browser, all recent opened tabs disappeared and were replaced with some tabs from year(s) past. You further referenced, through email interaction, that your other browsers, MS Edge and Opera, were not affected.

For more context, so I may better understand the experienced disruption, prior to performing the clean function, were your browsers outright closed or potentially left opened? I actually tried to replicate the disruption you described, and did not experience such a disruption, hence asking if the browser was outright closed prior to the clean function, which could be a contributing factor. And to further clarify, AVG AntiTrack only clears browser history and trackers and does not change browser settings.

I trust this explanation helps clarify some concern and I look forward to your clarifying response. Regards, Shawn

Hello Hartwig.
Thank you for reaching us here with your concerns.
We'd be glad to look into this.
We'd request you to share a screenshot of the tabs that were replaced. I have sent an email requesting the screenshot. Please share it in a reply to this email.

W10 – Hello
I got AntiTrack installed and used the browser clean up routine on Firefox. I only ticked the box "Remove temporary internet files" and run the app. Result: All recent open tabs disappeared and were replaced with tabs I had open two years ago. Is that normal?
