AntiVirus asking *every* time if I'm sure

Hello Darla,
Please be informed that you might have enabled the UAC on your Windows PC and that's the reason you have been prompted to approve the changes made by the program. Please follow the instructions on the article http://bit.ly/2cqN8mV to disable the UAC for specified program.

Thank you.

I have a program called TW on my computer that I use for work all day almost every day.  Never before has my computer asked if I'm sure I want to allow this program to make changes to my computer when I click the icon to open it, but since my AVG update yesterday, it's asking me every single time.  I've verified through different checks that it's AVG causing this.  I tried adding an exception for this .exe, and a related one. but it didn't make a difference.  Only if I turn AVG off, or turn the notifications down to "never," does it not ask me to verify each and every time.  Is this an AVG glitch or do I need to do something different?  I can still open TW when needed, by clicking "Yes" to the request, but I'd rather not have to do this each time.

A follow up:  I scrolled down a bit on the above link and found a different set of instructions.

To configure an application to always run elevated:

  • Right-click an application that is not likely to have been assigned an administrative token, such as a word processing application.
  • Click Properties, and then select the Compatibility tab.
  • Privilege Level, select Run this program as an administrator, and then click OK.
Note:
If the Run this program as an administrator option is unavailable, it means 1) the application is blocked from always running elevated, 2) the application does not require administrative credentials to run, 3) the application is part of the current version of the operating system, or 4) you are not logged on to the computer as an administrator.

As discussed in the Note, the "Run this Program as an Administrator" is unavailable when I go through the above bulleted steps.  I know #4 not to be the case since my administrator account is the only user on the computer.  don't think #1 is the case and I would think that #2 is the case both for the same reason -- because I've never had the UAC come up for it before. That leaves #3, which I don't fully understand but don't think applies either.  (You may know that better than I).

For some reason since my AVG update yesterday, I know get the UAC whenever I open the program.

Hello Darla,
In that case please contact Microsoft support so that they could assist you better.
Thank you for your understanding.
