Thank you for your response. I was expecting more detail or some link to some document. Still don't know what is the purpose of this network or what information goes through.
Hello
I use AVG Antivirus and I noticed a VPN Device named AVG Security was created in my list of network devices in mac os. Furthermore I can see it is active.
Can you confirm this is created by AVG Antivirus? And can you provide some insighs about the use of this VPN? I did not find any document or link with information, can you point me to any document that explains more detail about this VPN please?
Many thanks, Josep.

Hello Josep. Thank you for your time and effort to communicate with AVG. My name is Shawn and I am writing to you on behalf of the AVG Senior Support team.
To clarify your concern, this is the intended behavior of AVG Free AntiVirus and it is not related to VPN.
The Network profile needs to be there as it is an Apple requirement upon the recent macOS Big Sur update. The profile is related to AVG Free AntiVirus Web & Mail shields.
I trust this explanation helps clarify your concern. Regards, Shawn

I'm using AVG Antivirus Free for Mac OS.

This is from the AVG and you do not have to worry about it.
Hello again. This is from MAC OS system settings, network panel, which shows all network devices present in the system.
No I did not enable or change anything recently. Just have a standard plain installation of AVG Antivirus.
Can you clarify if AVG Antivirus does create this VPN entry?
