AVG AntiVirus will never block\affect keyboard.
This may be a coincidence.
If you suspect AVG is causing this issue, please disable AVG temporarily on your computer and check if the caps lock works fine.
To disable AVG temporarily, please right click on the AVG icon present at the bottom right corner of your desktop(System Tray) and you can see a scroll bar to "Disable Protection".
