Antivirus sticks at 1% of scanning files

Hello!
When trying to start antivirus scan, it keeps saying "1¨% scanned, 316 files", and it never gets further than this, it just scans until 1% of my files. it usually does work perfectly, this is the first time these things happen. Restarting program or computer has no use.

Both failed.

I am having the same problem since I got the compulsory update to AVG protection back in October 2016.  The scan is stuck at 1%.  I left the computer on all night - still stuck.  Shut down and restarted - still stuck.  I tried the instructions on the repair avg article above but I don't get the option to repair avg.  The only options I have are uninstall or change.  Please advise…

Hi Kishore,

Once I selected uninstall I got directed to the AVG page with repair or install option so was able to repair and back working normally now.  Thanks very much for your help.
