Hi, Jeff.
Please accept my apologies with regards to the AVG software not living up to your expectations. The activation instructions you received for AVG Internet Security belongs to an older version and it was already reported to our developers.
Regarding the Diskfresh tool, we'd like to take this as your valuable feedback and pass it up. Besides, AVG PC TuneUp includes several PC maintenance tools like improved Disk Cleaner, improved Duplicate Finder, Uninstall unused programs, Remove broken shortcuts and check disk for errors. The remote connection speed depends upon the network connection speed.
I've been an AVG customer for several years, with unlimited internet security and tuneup tools but I have had 3 years of bad experiences with upgrades that required using the INCREDIBLY slow and invasive remote access (the support people are great so no blame on them, just the software is crap) and countless pointless automatic emails that don't give the correct instructions and cause mayhem.
For example, after being automatically debited for Inter security and tuneup, I'm told by automatic email to follow a 3 step process - 1) open AVG, 2)select 3)support and click on reactivate. Well the last step does not exist. Then the support people tell me that because I'm paying for unlimited use I don't need to reactive. IMHO AVG are failing to connect the dots. And i haven't even touched on the subject of advertising popups.
I have an aging computer and I have to run Diskfresh outside of AVG TuneUp to reduce bad sectors. Why isn't a version of DiskFresh in TuneUp? When was the last time anything new (besides the unwelcome UI) was added to TuneUp?
So to summarize, IMHO AVG are not connecting the dots with their emails and customer communication. The remote connection is incredibly slow wasting the time of both connected parties and their innovation/ renovation outside of regular UI updates is non existent.
Anybody else have the same experiences?
Hoping for salvation
Jeff
