No Alan. Just normal AVG Internet protection 2014. However I found this post below - after hours of dealing with AVG "support" on the phone over the last 2 days and getting NO HELP from them - this has appeared to fix the problem for now! Thanks Stephen Wilde!

Antivirus update is failing. Message just says general error .I have tried going in to advanced settings and deleting temp update files as per help menu but still the same -wont update .

Now sorted having spoken to a human being at AVG; open programs in control panel of computer.
Select add or remove programs.
select AVG,click on change.Then select repair and follow instructions .
Easy and worked a treat.
why does avg keep saying avg free is comming to end when i have paid for it

Windows 7 Professional . AVG registered and has been working fine since January 14. When I re-enter licence (AVG tech is on the phone talking me through with valid licence) message comes up that licence is invalid? Support were no help at all after that. All he could suggest was downloading the free version (which didn't work) and remote access technician. Remote access (as suggested) is only available between 10pm and 9am next day west australian time ! I'm not in my office then. Has this happened to anyone else. I've wasted hours on it. And there is no-one else to contact.
