Aol email problems

Since I have paid for and downloaded AVG Tune up, I am having problems logging onto my email with AOL and also an account I have with BT email. The message I receive is " We couldn't access this account. You might need to update your password or give the account permission to sync to this device."
I have changing my password but next time I go to use the email account I get the same message! Very frustrating.
