Hello Cindy. I would request you to run AVG remover tool based on your OS (32-bit or 64-bit) to completely remove AVG and then re install. To determine whether your OS is a 32-bit or 64-bit, please click on this link. http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/827218

The message "Please wait while AVG applies your security settings. It is recommended not to open any browser until the process is complete." won't go away. It never completes. I've tried waiting it out, changing the reminder to 'never', and reinstalling AVG. Nothing changes. Any suggestions?
