Arduino IDE 1.8.33.0 will not open after renewing AVG and running a scan. an

Hello, Bob

We will help you in this.
Do you receive any message from the AVG when you try to access the Arduino IDE?
Share us the screenshot if any.
To add the Exception manually : AVG >> Menu >> Settings >> General >> Exceptions >> Add Exceptions.
The file path is not accepting when you try to add in the way mentioned above?

Hi,
I was able to get the Arduino IDE running after renaming the two main Arduino and Arduino Data folders (located in the documents folder). The IDE reverted to how it would appear when first installed.
-I tried to reuse the Arduino Data folder, and the IDE would not open.
-I am now using the my original Arduino folder, and a newly created Arduino Data folder.
–all is working, so this issue can be closed.
Thank you for the quick response,
Bob D

Hi,
I renewed my AVG account June 5, 2020, and ran a scan.
After the scan, I was no longer able to open my Arduino IDE program.
-The Arduino IDE was confirmed working just before the scan.
I tried going through the exceptions, and the Arduino IDE was listed, but with an older version.
I don't fully understand how to manually add the exceptions, and have tried with no success.
-it is not accepting the file path for the Arduino IDE exe.

Note, that there was a false positive detected by AVG earlier this year, the only way around it was to do a full Arduino IDE re installation, where I lost my custom settings.
Any help is appreciated.
Bob D
