Are folder type exceptions recursive?

Hello Michael.
We certainly understand your concern. Please be informed that if you add a Folder on the Exception Type, all the files under the Folder will be Excluded. You can click on the weblink https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en&urlName=How-to-make-exclusions-from-all-scans-and-shields&q=exclude which has the complete information to add exception on the AVG product. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further issues with AVG. Thank you.

Hello.  When I create a "Folder" type Exception, is the behavior recursive for all files and folders both IN and UNDER this directory?

Or does the exception apply only to the specific items in that specified folder, and no deeper?
(I.e. working sort of like Linux "find . -maxdepth 0".)

thanks!

Hello Michael,

If you are choosing the type as "folder" for AVG's exception then all files present on the folder will not be scanned by AVG.
If you are choosing the type as "application" then you can select a particular .exe file so that it will not be blocked or scanned by AVG.
Please feel free to contact us if you need any assistance.
