Auto update fail

thanks for prompt replies.
I  have been investigating uninstall/reinstall  AVG which I have seen mentioned in other responses provided by the AVG team.
I will continue manual updates for now and await your solution.
I hope AVG will inform me when it is thought that auto update should work.

Edward, There are presently issues with auto-updating which AVG are investigating. For the time being please carry on manually updating.

I can manually transfer files 'options using update from directory' after having downloaded virus definitions to my PC.
Attempts to updtae from the AVG programme suite fail with 'server not found' message.

i have reported this before and I expected it to 'go away'
It hasnt
