Automatic scans not running

No there isn't.  Avg Internet Security is the only one I have.  Nor have I ever installed another one that might have residual components that might still be active.

The current version of AVG Antivirus and AVG Internet Security is 21.2.
May I know on which operating system you have installed AVG?
Are you using AVG Antivirus free or paid AVG Internet Security?

Would you be so kind to clarify whether there is any other antivirus installed on your computer?

My daily scheduled scan will only run automatically for a few days then will not run automatically.

I have a clean installation of Windows 10 and I’ve repaired and/or reinstalled AVG several times in the past few months (using the removal tool) then deleted any existing scheduled scans and rescheduled a new one but that only solves the problem temporarily.

Please don't tell me to reinstall AVG, I've done that repeatedly over the past year.  The icon that used to show when automatic scans were running has been removed so there is no indication of when it is running unless I check it daily and run a manual scan when the scheduled scans fail to run which makes a nonsense of scheduling an automatic scan.

It has now taken to lying to me.  When I open my AVG control panel, I see a message claiming that my last scan was “a day ago” when the scan history shows that it has failed to run any scheduled scan for the past three days.

AVG used to be very reliable but now leaves me without the protection I have paid for so could you please tell me why it has become so unreliable and is there a permanent fix?

AVG Internet Security
Software version:          20.5.3130 (build 20.5.54510.561)
Virus definition version: 200714-0
UI version:                    1.0.543

I downloaded a new version and reinstalled AVG Anti-virus. The automatic scans are not running.

I have exactly the same problem. I have a weekly scan scheduled and it doesn't start automatically anymore, but did until now.

My version is 19.8(8344e26963b0) and the virus definition is 21032400 from 26th Mar 2021.

Hello OIiver, 

You have latest version of AVG Anti-virus installed on the PC. Can you please try to reinstall AVG Anti-virus on Mac device once and check whether you can perform scheduled scan?

I am using macOS 11.2 and the free AVG Antivirus.

It's interesting what you say about the latest version 21.2. There doesn't seem to be an update option for the client, only for the virus definitions. Is this latest version also available for my OS?
