To fix the Computer protection status and restore full functionality, please repair your AVG as follows:
1. Visit the AVG download page ( http://www.avg.com/download ), and then click AVG for Windows. AVG installation file will be downloaded.
Note: Please use the same link even if you have AVG Free.
2. Run the downloaded file. The AVG Installer will be launched.
3. Click Repair in the AVG Installer window, and then click follow the wizard to finish the repair process.
4. Once finished, restart your computer and verify the status of the computer Protection in AVG.

On opening AVG (free version) I have the message 'Computer update required'. I click on 'fix now' but I then get the message 'could not finish auot state repair' 'go on line to …' . On line I'm informed to re-boot the computer to resolve the issue. This has not worked. Has anyone any ideas to fix this?
