Is it then possible to download an older version where this feature can still be used? If not, if I use the manual scan feature in latest version for scannning removable devices, such as usb memory, is this as safe for stopping a virus on a memory stick from automatically run when inserted, for example through the auto run file? Or is it already to late then? Must the memory stick be automatically searched directly when it's inserted to prevent a possible virus to run itself?

My reason for asking about this is that I have understood that today this way of sending out viruses through memory stick is increasing.

First time here. I have the latest free edition, but I can't find out how to set it to automatically scan a usb memory when I connect one to the computer. I can only find instruction for how to make a manual scan of a connected usb memory. Is it not to late then?

Hello Martin,
We understand your concern. We are sorry to inform that we do not have an option to install older version of AVG, eventhough you use the old link, it will install latest version only. When the memory stick is inserted in your computer, this device will be scanned automatically before it auto runs, and make sure the device is safe to use.
